How To Ship A Specimen To A Taxidermist

Remove the well packaged bird from the freezer and put it in the center of a box or a Styrofoam cooler. Pack the container with Styrofoam peanuts or paper to insulate the bird. Because freight shippers charge by dimension and weight, we recommend to keep the container size to a minimum.

Make sure that each bird in the shipment contains an ID tag with your: name, street address, phone number, date and location collected, hunting license, your signature, and mounting instructions.

Seal the box, address it, and put the box in the freezer for at least a day.

Call your taxidermist before shipping the package.

We recommend "next day air" shipment during mid spring to late fall.
